B Corp Month: The Work Behind the Certification at Chilly's
- sustainability

It's B Corp Month. And responsible business, done right, doesn't clock out at the end of March.
For us at Chilly's, this month is both a celebration and a reminder that the B Corp certification is all about continuous improvement. It’s a chance to take stock and plan where we're headed next.
About B Corp
The B in B Corp stands for Benefit. That philosophy sits close to our mission: to accelerate the adoption and everyday use of reusable products. It's why the certification matters to us.
Chilly's became B Corp certified in June 2023. To get there, we had to meet verified standards across social and environmental business practices — everything from carbon footprints and supply chains to workers' rights and governance. It's a rigorous process. And being certified doesn't mean we've got it all figured out. It means we've committed to continuous improvement, and we're held to that commitment.
The framework we're working within
One of the most valuable aspects of B Corp certification is that it provides a clear framework for progress.
B Corp has recently made the certification much more rigorous, and we're working toward meeting those new standards. Every three years, we go through a full reassessment. That's not a box-ticking exercise — it's a forcing function to keep moving forward, not just maintain the status quo.
Our Responsibility Strategy, launched in 2023, gives us a clear structure to support our work around the B Corp certification. We track and report progress across six pillars: Materials, Circularity, Footprint, People, Suppliers, and Our Values. Each has specific, ambitious targets attached.
What's actually changed
In 2024/2025, Chilly’s made significant progress across packaging reduction, recycled stainless steel and our charity partnerships:
-
90% reduction in direct product packaging weight through Chilly’s new packaging.
-
1 million products ordered that are made with our certified 90% post-consumer recycled stainless steel.
-
3D printers installed in our new in-house prototyping facility at HQ. This significantly reduces our reliance on external prototyping, which was often carried out in Asia and delivered by air freight.
-
Big Mouth lids feature expanded polypropylene (EPP) for insulation. This allows the entire lid to be made from a single material, making it easier to recycle compared with more commonly used insulation materials.
-
A formalised approach to Circularity, focusing on durability and continuing our commitment to avoiding bonded multi-materials and designing with disassembly in mind.
-
Five mantras established that underpin how we operate at Chilly’s.
-
86.5% of sustainability goals set by Chilly’s team this year as part of our new goal-setting and progression framework.
-
Two new charity partners focused on improving access to music and creativity for young people: the Roundhouse and Studio 36.
The work continues
Responsible business is never finished. There's always more to measure, more to improve, and more opportunities to make a real difference.
B Corp Month is a useful reminder of that. But the work behind it? That runs all year.
