Chilly’s is switching to verified 90% post-consumer recycled stainless steel.
At Chilly’s we are constantly trying to improve and innovate our products. And our 90% Recycled Stainless Steel products are the next step in our product and material innovation.
We are excited to announce the launch of our 90% Recycled Stainless Steel products. Made from post-consumer verified recycled stainless steel and available in 3 sizes of our Series 2 bottle. With a new embossed logo and featuring all the series 2 features that you know and love.
We aren’t stopping there. As part of our Responsibility Strategy, our target is to create all newly designed products using recycled steel from 2024 and this is the first step towards achieving this.
Changing to recycled stainless steel will help to reduce our reliance on virgin (newly created) materials, utilise waste and reduce our products carbon footprint*.

What does 90% post-consumer recycled stainless steel mean?
Post-consumer means waste that has come from consumers after they have finished using it. This waste is then recycled into useful material, using what might have otherwise been wasted.
Pre-consumer typically means waste made during an industrial process, for example, during the production of products. These metal scraps are recycled into materials to be used again.
We’ve chosen post-consumer waste, as we think it is vital to collect what is out there in the world and prevent it from being sent to landfill.
Why verified 90% post-consumer recycled stainless steel?
As part of our Responsibility Strategy, we’re working to create reusable products in the most responsible way we can. A major part of this is our materials, and switching to recycled stainless steel will help us to reduce our impact.
We’ve been working hard in the background for several years to establish a reliable supply of recycled steel. Working closely with our factory, we found a material partner who meets our needs to be able to create our high-quality products from recycled stainless steel.
We’ve then been working with our third-party quality assurance provider to verify the recycled content of our 90% Recycled Stainless Steel products.
We chose to work with them to provide assurance to our customers and to verify our process in accordance with Intertek’s Recycled Content Verification Program which uses definitions consistent with ISO 14021:2016 standard.
What next?
In 2023, we launched our Responsibility Strategy where one of our key focus areas is Materials. As part of this, we’re constantly looking to improve our products and packaging and what they are made from, reducing our environmental impact, and improving quality for our community.
Launching our 90% Recycled Stainless Steel products is just the start. But we will not stop here. We have set a target to ‘create all newly designed products using this recycled steel from 2024’. Our team is currently working hard to achieve this.
As stainless steel makes up the largest part of our product we focused on this material first, but it is not the only recycled material we’re working on. We can’t wait to show you more soon.
